Big Fat Heretic, you're being naughty again!  You pulled a stunt like this in Ray's forum with Andy Austin.  Remember what happened?

First of all, none of the players and most of the fans don't even know anything like this is going on.  In other words, it's not their fault.  Anytime a huge number of people have come together for whatever purpose, there will almost always be a few evil individuals looking for potential customers.  No one -- players, fans, coaches, team owners -- are responsible for this.  Anytime there are business conventions, I'm sure the pimps are busy with their sordid activities.  Who knows?  Perhaps there have been meetings of scientists somewhere where the local pimps found a customer or two.

Don't get me wrong.  Those who traffic in children should be dealt with as harshly as the law allows.  But there really is no connection to sports as a causative factor.

As far as speaking to Romo as if he's a pedophile, that goes way beyond the pale both in terms of offensiveness and goofiness.  Don't you realize how silly you look, BFH?  You seem to think that the best way to defend yourself online is to not spare anything to throw at the other poster -- including the kitchen sink, as well as the toilet bowl.

ISIS's insane obsession is not directed solely against sports.  A recent news report claims they're seeking to execute highly educated women.  The sports angle is only part and parcel of a very sick movement that reminds me a lot of the Khmer Rouge led by Pol Pot in the 1970s.

Just a comment on violent sports haters.  I agree that Big Fat Heretic has an unpleasant online personality, something that is not rare in Internet forums.  But in real life the most violent act he's ever been guilty of is tossing a cup of coffee in the face of a jerk who made disgusting comments about disabled people.  (No, he wasn't referring to welfare recipients.)  A nearby police officer who had listened to the whole exchange between BFH and the other guy had no problem with BFH tossing coffee in the other guy's face.  The worst anyone could say about BFH is that he's a crank.  We all have shortcomings and weaknesses (myself included); so, I don't think that people should worry about harmless cranks.  I certainly have other concerns besides those having to do with BFH's own personal problems.

Since sports haters (real and those who are inaccurately labeled as such) are such a small group of people, I suspect they are actually outnumbered by violent athletes.  I just came across this news item (which, I admit, is slightly dated) about a PR campaign to make a former rapist football player look like he's some kind of hero simply because he supposedly "reformed."  (Never mind that he has never paid his debt to society.  He's never spent a single day in prison.)

The USA Today item is absolutely disgusting!  As usual, the victims of rape are ignored.  Instead, prominence is given to this extremely violent bully who doesn't deserve the time of day from any decent person.  Statistics show that athletes accused of rape are far less likely to be convicted than nonathletic men accused of rape.  I have no doubt this is true because we live in a society that coddles athletes who have committed crimes.  No, the majority of athletes don't commit vicious crimes against others away from the game; but those who do are often protected from prosecution simply because they're athletes.  

Romo, the worst enemies of sports in this country are not "sports haters."  They are to be found among the fans; in other words, the enablers who believe that school athletes should not be held accountable for mistreating others away from the game.  When a teenage girl or young woman accuses a football player or players* of committing rape, just see what the reaction is on the part of many of the fans.  It's heartbreaking!  These victims are persecuted.  In the Steubenville case, the rape victim received death threats from fans even though the two football players had been found guilty.  (*As evidenced by many reports about fraternities, gang rape seems to be especially common among the "macho" crowd.)  

Remember the Penn State scandal?  Remember the students who rioted and committed acts of vandalism?  The reason they were upset was not because Sandusky had raped young boys, but because their demigod "JoPa" had just been fired!  One of the victims was a high-school senior when the scandal broke out.  He had not wanted anyone to find out that he was one of Sandusky's victims; but his coach let the word out.  A grandmother of one of the Penn State players walked up to the mother of the victim and actually told her, "Now my grandson's football team is going to lose; and it's all your son's fault!"  The victim was also bullied by classmates who blamed him for tarnishing Paterno's image!  The bullying became so intense that he had to drop out of school before he could graduate at the end of the school year.  Why didn't Franco Harris go to that high school and tell the students in an assembly in the school auditorium to leave the victim alone, that he was not to blame for Paterno's deserved disgrace?  I get quite annoyed with BFH at times, but his negative quirks are NOTHING compared to the despicable attitudes of these Penn State fans!

Romo, if I were a sports fan, I wouldn't want any rapist playing on my favorite team.  But as has been verified time after time after time, many of the fans simply don't care!  How do I know this is true?  Because individual sports fans themselves have said they couldn't care less if one or more of the players have committed rape or some other dishonorable offense.  There truly is a rape culture in this country.  Don't you realize that the enabler fans are corrupting your beloved sports?  They do far more damage to sports than BFH, who is essentially a powerless individual, could ever hope to accomplish.  

So, no, it's not all about BFH.  Although his violent comments are objectionable, they have little (if any) impact in the real world.  Guys like Christian Peter ( * groan *  What a name for a rapist!) have actually severely hurt people.  I couldn't care less what he's doing now because he never was subjected to any form of justice.  He never paid his debt to society.  If he had not been a football player, he would have been treated like the criminal he is.  Asking Christian Peter to help deal with the NFL's problem of "domestic abuse" is like asking David Duke to give us advice on how to improve race relations.  Absolutely outrageous and sickening!
