i_like_1981 has returned to the Internet!

Longtime members of Ray's forum (which, of course, no longer exists) undoubtedly recall i_like_1981. He was one of my (and Mrs. Earl's) favorite members. I enjoyed reading his posts because his style of expression was relaxing instead of stressful. He also had a sense of humor and was very much of a gentleman who believed there was a proper way to treat everyone. Despite the fact he had suffered physical bullying in school (including an act of physical assault that should have been prosecuted), he was able to view athletes as individuals.

After he had posted 1000 times in Ray's forum, he stopped posting. He had indicated that he was disenchanted with Internet forums, a feeling I can understand quite well. He and I had communicated frequently by e-mail for about two years; but around the time he quit posting, his e-mail address ceased to be operative. I tried several times to send him an e-mail, and each time I received a notice to the effect that it no longer existed.

Anyway, within the last 30 days, he left a brief message in the Guestbook of Ray's website. I've posted his message below, as follows:

Yes, indeed, i_like_1981! You certainly have missed something! You left long before Ray went bananas.

I'm just wondering if there isn't some way I could track him down using his username. I mean aside from Google searches, which I've already done.

I_like-1981 has posted again in Ray's Guestbook!

Pity about the forum - oh well, I guess life has to go on. Shame I won't be speaking to the others again, but still, fun times we had, oh yes indeed. Still don't like sports any more than I used to - how pleasing it was to see England crash out of the World Cup after three (or maybe even two?) games this year. Hardly surprising, though.
