Technical Issues Empty Technical Issues

Post by Agent 47 Tue Jan 22, 2013 11:23 am

I've noticed that if you view this forum with a screen resolution set at 1024 pixels wide, then wide images such as this one get cut off on the right hand end. (That particular image gets cut off half way through the "3").

On the old forum, any wide images posted like that would cause a slider bar to appear down the bottom, and you could manually slide the image across to see it all.

But that doesn't seem to be the case on this forum.

Or maybe that's a feature that can be activated on this forum?

And, no! I don't mean this feature!

Here's a solution: GET A BIGGER F'ING SCREEN, N00B! Razz

Seriously though, I don't know why it wouldn't allow you to slide the screen. I've set it so that images above 800 px wide or 600 px high will automatically be resized while keeping the dimensions the same. How does it look now?

Dude!

Netbooks!

While the trend for some screens is to get bigger, the trend for other devices is to get smaller. It's a funny old world we live in!

Yeah! Thanks! That's better!

It still gets cut off a tiny bit on the right hand end by default, but now by clicking on that "Enlarge this image" it resizes it nicely. Or the "Click to see fullsize" works too.

But that's much better!

Cheers!

Technical Issues Empty Posting LiveLeak Videos

Post by Agent 47 Fri Jun 21, 2013 2:14 pm

I recently tried posting a LiveLeak video on here, but it wouldn't work.

I thought the problem could possibly be at my end, because ever since Mozilla, in their infinite wisdom, remotely disabled something on my computer, some things that used to work fine, now no longer work at all.

I'll have to get around to updating my equipment to fix all those things one day, but in the meantime, I tried posting the LiveLeak video from another computer that I thought would be up-to-date, BUT THAT DIDN'T WORK EITHER.

So before I go running around trying every other computer in town, is it even POSSIBLE to post LiveLeak videos on here?

It's not in the posting toolbar, so I'd say it's not possible. It looks like only two specific video sites can have their videos linked — YouTube GoogleTube and Dailymotion.

Technical Issues Empty Posting LiveLeak Videos

Post by Agent 47 Sun Jun 23, 2013 3:05 pm

Damn. OK, how about this then...

LiveLeak videos have an "Embed Code" for them, something like this -

Code:
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.liveleak.com/embed?v=a12345678910" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Isn't that HTML?

And I see an option on this forum for enabling HTML in posts. So does that mean that if HTML is enabled in posts on this site, then LiveLeak videos can be posted that way, using that "Embed Code"?

Maybe HTML is DISabled by default on this site for security reasons or something? Any chance of enabling HTML temporarily just for a couple of days or so to try to get a LiveLeak video posted?

Alright, I just changed the board to allow HTML. But to use it yourself (maybe even see it, too), you need to enable it in your profile. I'll put up an announcement on how to do that.

By the way, I put in your code, Agent47, but it just displayed what I assume is the front page.

Hey! A new toy! I love it!

Thankyou very much, Skul!

You're a legend.

That code was just a randomised example. I'm surprised it worked at all!

Thankyou very much, Skul.

The only difference between the man and the boy is the price of the toy!
