Oh! The stupid!!! It burns!!!

This is what's really dangerous, when we have politicians who know absolutely NOTHING about medicine, and yet, wanting to pass laws regulating medical procedures.

OK, Please do check out this article from Think Progress

Yeah! This is really precious!

Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore (R) wants to reform the rules of end-of-life medical care so that more cancer patients can simply flush out their disease using baking soda.

Fiore, who is also CEO of a healthcare company, told listeners to her weekly radio show on Saturday, that she will soon introduce a “terminally ill bill,” to allow more non-FDA-approved treatments for those diagnosed as having terminal illnesses.

As first reported by Jon Ralston, Fiore told listeners: “If you have cancer, which I believe is a fungus, and we can put a pic line into your body and we’re flushing, let’s say, salt water, sodium cardonate [sic], through that line, and flushing out the fungus . . . These are some procedures that are not FDA-approved in America that are very inexpensive, cost-effective.” The American Cancer Society warns that while cancer patients whose immune systems are weakened by high doses of chemotherapy can sometimes contract fungal infections, “there is no evidence that anti-fungal treatment causes the patients’ tumors to shrink.” Cancer Research UK dismisses the claim that sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) can cure cancer as a debunkedpersistent cancer myth.”

Fiore added that Nevada is already “the capital of entertainment” and this bill could help “make it the medical capital of the world as well.”

Weeks after being removed from her position as Republican Majority Leader over allegations of more than $1 million in tax liens, Fiore made news last Wednesday for her assertion that “young, hot little girls on campus” need to be armed with guns to prevent themselves from being raped, saying that every citizen should “have the right to defend him or herself from sexual assault.”

In 2012, she proposed arming school officials and college students as a way of combating school shootings.

Although Fiore’s views on cancer are particularly fringe, the bill she is backing is gaining traction in a number of states. At least five states have now passed similar legislation that allows patients to use drugs not cleared by the FDA, dubbed so-called right to try bills. The campaign to pass these bills has been led by the libertarian Goldwater Institute.

Gee! Now isn't this just special!!!

Yeah! This Republican bubble-headed-bimbo thinks that cancer is a fungus that can simply be flushed away using good ol' Arm & Hammer Baking Soda! Oh really???

So, Michele Fiore, has been trying to push for a bill that would allow for the use of alternative medicine, much of which has been debunked by medical science, and for a damn good reason!

Fiore added that Nevada is already “the capital of entertainment” and this bill could help “make it the medical capital of the world as well.”

NO! It would not!

It would only make Nevada the pseudo-science capital of the USA and the laughing stock of the world, as if the USA weren't already the laughing stock of the world enough as it is it!

OK! So, how about allowing people to use all kinds of so-called alternative medicines?

How about, for example: homeopathy?

Here's the so-called "theory" behind homeopathy . . . the more dilute a medicine is, the more effective it's supposed to be, for example: you take a medicine, and you dilute one drop of the medicine in a large pool of water, then you take that diluted medicine, and dilute one drop of it again, and you do this over and over again until it's diluted to about a decillionth, about 0.0000000000000000000000000000000001 as much of the substance in water!

So, homeopathic medicines are just water, which is believed to somehow carry the "memory" of having been in contact with the substance. Yeah! REALLY!!! A lot of people actually believe this shit.

If this were true, then if I take one drop of whiskey and dilute it into the Pacific ocean, and then, drink a cup of water from the ocean, I should still be able to get drunk on my fat ass! Right??? Because the water carries the "memory" of having been in contact with the whiskey! Right?

Can ya see where we're going with this?

So, if this is the case, then the tap water from your kitchen sink should still carry the "memory" of having once been dinosaur piss 60 million years ago!

Yeah! If this were true . . . then wouldn't your drinking water also carry the "memory" of having been in contact with millions of other different chemicals?

Also, to have a substance diluted to about 1 decillionth, it would take all the oceans of trillions and quadrillions and quintillions of earth-like planets. In fact, if the whole known universe were filled with water, then that is how much it would take to dilute a substance to a decillionth.

Yet, that is the amount of dilution that is claimed by the practitioners of homeopathy!!! REALLY!!!

So, anyone with just an ounce of brains can see from this, that homeopathy is just pure unadulterated BULLSHIT!!!

Oh! But Republican Assemblywoman, Michele Fiore, of Nevada is advocating exactly that when she proposed a bill that would allow alternative medicine. I guess she also would advocate faith healing.

OK, about a couple of months ago, when I was riding around through down town El Paso, Texas, I came across this little store that was selling all kinds of tea, and herbal remedies, and on the window a sign saying Homeopathic Remedies. So, I decide to go into the little shop.

The young lady who owned the shop, she seemed nice enough.

But, I felt the need to inform her, that homeopathy is just a pseudo-science with no bases in scientific fact.

Now, some herbal remedies will work. For example: some herbal teas will treat a headache, and also, for example: quinine, which has been used to treat malaria comes from the bark of a tree in South America, and common Aspirin, which has been around since the 1800s originally came from the bark of a willow tree, but now, what we use is a synthetic derivative.

So, there is some scientific bases in herbal medicines, but there are limits. Herbal remedies will not cure cancer. But, there are herbal remedies the will lower one's blood pressure, and cinnamon tea is good for diabetes, it will help to lower one's blood sugar levels, but only to a limited degree. Some diabetics still need to take insulin. Also, I remember reading that NASA discovered that nutmeg tea is good for nausea that astronauts sometime feel in a zero gravity environment, and of course, marijuana is good for patients undergoing chemotherapy during treatment for cancer. It takes away the nausea and improves one's appetite. That's why many states want to legalize marijuana.

Yes, there is some scientific bases for some herbal medicines.

But . . . there is absolutely no scientific bases for homeopathy. Absolutely NONE!!!

So, I had to inform the young lady, that she was deceiving her customers by selling homeopathic remedies. Also, one should consult a doctor before trying any herbal remedies.

OK, I am not a doctor, so I'm not an expert in medicine.

But, I do know this much . . . that cancer is NOT a fungus that can be washed away by using baking soda!

Anyway . . . . .

More Republican Stupidity! Cancer is a Fungus, Just Wash it Away With Baking Soda! Women Can Undergo Gynecological Examinations by Swallowing a Miniature Pill-sized Camera! Vito-Barbieri-1

Nothing compares to Republican idiocy when they wander into that deep mystery of women’s reproductive health, especially if it means understanding a woman’s anatomy and how it functions.  Republicans have a well-documented record of ignorance on the subject of rape. We all remember Todd Aiken’s claim that women can’t get pregnancy during “forcible rape”.  Aiken doubled down on the absurdity when he claimed we have magical powers to “shut that whole thing down.”  Other Republicans called rape lemonade and a blessing.

At any rate, Republican ignorance combined with their on-going obsession with placing severe restrictions on women’s reproductive choices, is a serious matter.

Just when you think Republican ignorance has reached its all time low, another Republican politician comes along to prove Republicans can always take stupid and ignorant to new levels on a whole range of subjects.  Not only do they lack understanding of the fact that women do know they are carrying a future child when they are pregnant and put a great deal of thought into the decisions they make pertaining to their pregnancy.

Of course, Republicans always manage to find a new way to express their ignorance and stupidity that surpasses the previous.

Meet Idaho State Rep. Vito Barbieri, who it won’t surprise you to learn, is also a Republican.  During a discussion about comparisons between colonoscopies and tele-medicine abortion procedures, Barbieri made comments that if not for the consequences would make a great SNL skit.

This discussion occurred during a committee hearing in which the members are considering a bill that will ban doctors from overseeing chemical abortions via video conferencing.

After claiming that colonoscopies can be done with drugs, Barbieri offered up the idea that women can have gynecological exams by swallowing a camera.  Fortunately, Dr. Julie Madsen, who was testifying before the House State Affairs Committee where this exchanged occurred, was there to give Barbieri some basic lessons on a woman’s anatomy.

Thanks to Raw Story, you can listen to the exchange between Rep. Barbieri and Dr. Madsen here.

Barbieri: “You mention the risk of colonoscopy; can that be done by drugs?”

Dr. Madsen: “It cannot be done by drugs.  It can, however, be done remotely, where you swallow a pill, and this pill has a little camera and it makes its way through your intestines, and those images are uploaded to a doctor who’s often thousands of miles away who then interprets that.”

Barbieri: “Can this same procedure be done in a pregnancy — swallowing a camera and helping the doctor determine what the situation is with the child?”

Dr. Madsen: “It cannot be done in pregnancy simply because, when you swallow a pill, it would not end up in the vagina.”

In earlier testimony, Dr. Madsen offered this criticism of a bill that is overly intrusive on women’s medical choice, but even goes to the point of dictating how doctors should practice medicine.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
“I’m wary of a group of medical laypersons such as you specifying the nature of medicine, and that is exactly what this bill does. It specifies how a doctor provides medical care – including how the care is documented in the patient chart.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Granted, Barbieri’s ignorance about women’s anatomy is the stuff of a SNL script.  The problem is when someone with that level of ignorance wants government to control women’s reproductive choices and dictate how her doctor provides reproductive care.

WOW! This Republican retard, Vito Barbieri, reminds me of a Kindergartner who (thinks?) that when Mommy is pregnant, that she carries the baby in her stomach!

When I was just a kid in grade school, having read books on human anatomy, even back then, I knew that the digestive tract is not connected to the reproductive system.

My mother was taking courses in First Aid, and I have read through her textbooks, and we also had a big red medical encyclopedia on the coffee table in the living room. So, when ever we kids had any questions, we would get out the big red book. It had diagrams showing how the fetus develops in the womb. All kinds of diagrams on human anatomy.

So, Mommy doesn't carry the baby in her stomach! No, the fetus is carried in the uterus, and it is not in any way connected to the digestive tract.

If a woman were to swallow a tiny camera in a pill, it would go down the esophagus, into the stomach, and eventually pass out through the intestines. It would not go anywhere near the uterus.

What an idiot!!!

Vito Barbieri knows far less about human anatomy than I knew when I was only in the third grade!!!

And these Republican fuck-tards what to pass laws concerning how doctors practice medicine???

Oh! The stupid! It burns!

I wonder, if a small probe were inserted inside his skull . . . would it see nothing but cobwebs???

If you were to put his brain in a thimble, it would rattle around like a potato in a boxcar!

Put his brain in a mosquito, and it would fly backwards!

To refer to the Republican party as a clown show would be an insult to clowns!!!

I'm at a loss for words. I can't think of anymore to say.

I'm outta here!
