FORUM RULES Empty FORUM RULES

Post by Skul Mon Dec 24, 2012 9:49 pm

Please respect the following rules when you post on this forum. Breaking of any of these rules may result in a Post Restriction (PR) for a set period of time, or in extreme cases, can result in a permanent ban.

§1)No Flaming/Flame-baiting

Flame-baiting is not tolerated. Flame-baiting is making a post to someone that is obviously intended to elicit an angry response.

This goes for posts and PMs to sports fans, too. Not all sports fans who visit here are rude and obnoxious. Do not automatically assume they are and instantly start hurling abuse at them if they have not posted anything abusive themselves. If they start using insults, then by all means give it back to them.

In other words — respond in kind.

§2) No insulting of other peoples' race, religion or beliefs

Insulting someone because of their race or religion is not tolerated. If you receive a message containing anything as such, PM a moderator; do not stoop to their level.

§3) Follow the instructions of the moderators

When the adminstrator or moderator asks you to do something or to stop doing something, please follow their instructions. If you have questions/complaints/comments about the board or moderators, please PM them to a moderator. We will do our utmost to reply to any that we receive. If you have an issue that you feel cannot be solved by another moderator, then please PM the forum administrator (Skul). He will be happy to look into the matter.

§4)No Spam

We deem spam as making a thread or posting a reply that has no real worth, is irrelevant, useless and offers nothing to a discussion. Messages from banned members are also considered as spam.

Spam will be fined with Post Restriction.

§5) No posting of explicit images

No posting of pictures containing porn, real deaths, mutilations, wounds, carnage, and other disgusting/explicit images. This also includes links to pages that contain such images.

If you are in doubt, contact a moderator via private message before posting.

§6) Post in the right forum

Make new threads in the correct forum. If you're unsure of which forum to post in, feel free to ask a moderator. This is just to keep the forum neater.

§7) Do not cross-post

Do not post duplicate threads in more than one forum simply to get an answer quicker or to draw more attention to your post.

§8) Do not dig up old threads

Threads older than 4 months should not be dug up unless something significant is being added. If in doubt as to what is "significant", PM a moderator and they will give you their opinion. As always, old threads will remain open or be closed at the moderators' discretion.

§9) No duplicate accounts

Having several accounts is forbidden. If you want to get a new account, contact a moderator. If you wish to change your username for any reason, we will be happy to change it for you.

§10) Do not type in all capital letters

Typing in all caps is equal — according to standard net etiquette — to yelling. It is also difficult reading such posts.

§11) Write in English

Try avoiding writing in any other language, since the majority of the members most likely won't understand.

§12) Remove image tags when quoting a post containing an image

If you quote a post that contains an image, please remove the image tag so that the link is posted, not the image. It helps keep the thread tidy and easier to read if the same image isn't being posted repeatedly. You need only delete one square bracket [ or the forward slash / to stop the image from hotlinking.

§13) Do not quote entire posts

There is no need to quote an entire post, especially if you are the first response to a thread or if you are responding to the most recent post. We do not need to see the entire post all over again. If you must quote, edit out the parts that you are not responding to, or break up the quoted post if you are responding to different parts of it.

§14) Do not hotlink images over 4MB (4096kb) in size

Do not link images over 4MB using the IMG tags to display an image in your post. If you wish to post an image larger than 4MB, feel free to post the URL instead of hotlinking. We will allow some leeway, though. We will not stop you from posting an image that is 5000kb in size, for example.

§15) Keep avatars and signatures within forum regulations

Maximum signature image size is 600x200 px. Total maximum image size is 2MB (all signature images combined).

Try not to have several lines of huge text. Moderators will PM you if they deem it too large.

Avatar filesize must not exceed 64kb and be no larger than 200x200.

Signature and avatar must be quiet -- no sounds may be played back in them by any means.

No flame-baiting, or similar material, or text that other members may find offensive is allowed to be displayed.

The signature may be used to advertise your gaming clan, fan-site, etc., but not as a billboard for flaming or opinion statements.

§16) Report rule violations

If you see a violation of these rules on the board, do not reply in the thread, but send a PM to a moderator or use the "Report this post to a moderator" function instead. Replying in the thread will be considered as spam.

§17) No public discussion on how the forum is moderated

If you have questions/complaints/comments about the board or moderators please PM them to a moderator. We will do our utmost to reply to any that we receive. If you have an issue that you feel cannot be solved by another moderator, then please PM the forum administrator (Skul). He will be happy to look into the matter.

§18) Videos/Movies

No video/movie, either posted or linked to, shall contain any of the following:

Porn, real deaths, mutilations, wounds, carnage, and other disgusting/explicit footage.

This also includes anything glorifying deliberate anti-social behaviour.

§19) Do not derail threads/go off-topic

Try to keep a thread on the same topic it started with. If a topic starts to go off-topic, a moderator will let you know. If it continues, the thread will be locked, the offending posts deleted and members who continued the off-topic discussion will be warned. If you wish to have a different discussion, either start a new thread, or ask a moderator to move the off-topic posts to a new thread.

§20) No 'getting a last word in'

If a topic has been locked, do not start a new thread just to get the last word. If a thread has been locked, it has been locked for a reason. 'Last word' threads will be deleted and the member warned, including those who reply to it.
If you see a 'last word' thread, PM a moderator or use the "Report this post to a moderator" function. Do not reply to it.

§21) No triple-, quadruple-, centuple-, etc. posting allowed

You are allowed to make, at the most, two consecutive posts in a thread. If you want to say more, use the Edit button located at the bottom-right of your post.
