Happy Holidays Thread (Inspired by Skul)
Skul has given me a great idea for a thread. There's so much anger and hostility on the Internet that I thought it would be good to have a topic that provides a sort of relief. An escape from the negativity, if you please. So, I've come up with this new topic in which I will be posting images of beauty appropriate to the time of the year. (As well as a few that are funny to a greater or lesser degree.) Images that should help us relax. I will begin by posting a few before I go to bed.
This topic is not meant to offend anyone. It is not a celebration of Christmas. It is simply a celebration of this time of the year. I would request that no one take advantage of this topic by posting a diatribe against someone's religion or lack of faith. No controversy is intended. Nothing unpleasant, please. I'd just like to have a nice, peaceful thread to help us relax. (No, I don't think this is wimpy.)
Now I shall post the first image (which will be followed by others in succeeding posts).

Re: Happy Holidays Thread (Inspired by Skul)
Good afternoon Earl:
Well . . . it was on December 25,1642 on the Julian day calender when Sir Isaac Newton
was born, or January 4,1643 on the Gregorian calender.
Therefore, instead of celebrating Christmas, I'm going be celebrating
Sir Isaac Newton's birthday.
So, I'm going to wish everybody a Happy Sir Isaac Newton Day!!!

I'm all in favor of celebrating the birthday of Sir Isaac Newton, who truly is one of the giants of the ages. Among his many other accomplishments, he was the father of calculus -- which, incidentally, Mrs. Earl loved to teach when she was a high-school teacher.
May you have a Happy Sir Isaac Newton Day, my friend! (And a Happy New Year as well!)

Hey! I just remembered! Rod Serling was born on a Christmas day! The creator of The Twilight Zone was born on December 25, 1924.
A young Rod Serling celebrates Christmas with his wife Carol and their two daughters.
Hey! Look! Sir Isaac Newton has chosen to celebrate the holiday season with us!

To get in the Christmas spirit, here's a playlist of Christmas songs. Pick and choose, or play them all with a single click.

A Sir Isaac Newton Day? What a wonderful idea! Although I know the story about the apple falling on his head is apocryphal, I feel certain we should celebrate the day by eating something made out of apples. Thanks for the idea, Big Fat Heretic!
