Hmmm... You know, there are an awful lot of people out there with sleep disorders who have trouble sleeping. Do you think this might be a cure?

I'd rather have hot chocolate. At least there's no chance of your brain dribbling out of your ear when you drink it.

Sport intentionally used as a tranquilliser.
Now, that's an interesting concept.
And different sports could provide different degrees of sedation for different purposes...
TENNIS: Suitable for sleep disorders.
FOOTBALL: Suitable for dentistry (including root canals).
CRICKET (especially Ashes): Suitable for all major surgery where maximum anaesthesia is required.

For me, watching sports would not act as a tranquillizer.
No! If I were forced to sit through a sporting event, I would have a psychotic reaction and start breaking stuff, and maybe put some sports fan's head through the TV screen, and then pour a bucket of water on him.
I have this fantasy (inspired by a movie I had once seen) of some people sitting in a hot tub and the TV is there, and they're all watching sports, and I pick up the TV and toss it into the hot tub, and the all get electrocuted!
One of my favorite movies I saw back when I still had cable TV was, The Final. It was really cool, but it had a sad ending. I'm going to see if I can find it on Hulu or Netflix, and perhaps watch it again.
I can actually sleep better, even after having a lot of coffee than I could through a sporting event.
