Man Utd fan calls 999, demands to speak with Sir Alex Ferguson

A Manchester United fan has dialled 999, demanding to speak to Sir Alex Ferguson.

The drunk supporter from Crumpsall made the call at around 10.30pm after witnessing his team lose to Sunderland in the Capital One Cup on penalties last night (January 22).

Former United manager Ferguson retired last May, having won 38 trophies in his 26-year spell at the club. However, replacement David Moyes has struggled in his first season in charge, with United at present sitting in seventh place in the Premier League.

The caller criticised United's cup performance, stating: "The result is all wrong. They had extra time, and it was a total and utter load of rubbish."

"I want to report a crime," he added. "The crime is that Manchester United were absolutely knackered."

The man was then warned about misuse of the emergency number.

Greater Manchester Police posted on Facebook: "Obviously, it can be a sad and depressing moment when your football team loses a game.

"However, can we all please remember that 999 is to be used for emergencies only." Read more: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/news/a546197/man-utd-fan-calls-999-demands-to-speak-with-sir-alex-ferguson.html#ixzz2rHxwMBgI wrote:
